Frequently Asked Questions

-
Why can’t you see clients from every state? Our ability to see clients is limited by state-specific licensure, so we can only work with individuals in the states where we are licensed. Dr. Vo is licensed in WA, CA, and OR; Dr. Schrumpf is licensed in CA and MT; and Dr. Nguyen-Cole is licensed in OR.
-
When is payment due, and how can I pay?Payment is due at the start of each session unless we’ve made other arrangements. We accept cash, credit cards, and Health Savings Accounts (HSAs). For credit card payments, we use Ivy Pay, a secure, HIPAA-compliant mobile app that ensures your payment information is handled safely and privately. This app is used for both therapy sessions and assessments.
-
Is a deposit required for assessments?Yes, a non-refundable deposit of $250 is required to secure your appointment for this assessment. This ensures the necessary time and resources is reserved for your evaluation. The deposit will be applied toward the total cost of the assessment.
-
Do you offer a sliding scale or reduced fees? No, we don’t offer sliding scale fees. This allows us to maintain the quality and consistency of care for all our clients.
-
What are your fees?Individual therapy: $240 per 50-minute session Couples counseling: $300 per 50-minute session Psychological assessment: $2500+. The fee is provided as a starting point because the final cost can vary based on the specific tests required, the depth of evaluation, and the time needed to address your unique needs. This approach ensures you receive a thorough and personalized assessment.
-
What happens if I cancel or miss an appointment? We require at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations and rescheduling because that hour is reserved specifically for you. Without enough notice, it’s difficult to offer the time to someone else who may need it. For assessments, the cancellation fee is $250 due to the preparation and resources involved in planning your evaluation. Thank you for understanding—this policy helps us provide consistent and dedicated care to all our clients.

Can I use out-of-network benefits to work with you?Yes! If we're not in-network with your insurance provider, you may still be able to use your out-of-network benefits to cover a portion of our services. Here’s what to do: 1. Call your insurance provider and ask: Does my plan include out-of-network benefits for therapy? How many sessions per year are covered? What percentage of the session cost will be reimbursed after I meet my deductible? Do I need to provide any specific documentation, such as a diagnosis, for reimbursement? 2. If your plan covers out-of-network therapy, we can provide a monthly statement (Superbill) that you can submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. Many PPO plans reimburse 50–100% of allowable session costs after the deductible is met. Let us know if you have more questions about how this process works!
-
How can I check if my insurance covers therapy or assessment? To find out if your insurance covers therapy or assessment, call your insurance provider directly and ask the following questions: Does my plan cover therapy services (individual or couples therapy) or psychological assessment? Are there any restrictions, such as needing a referral, prior authorization, or a specific diagnosis? How many therapy sessions are covered per year? What is my co-pay or co-insurance for therapy or assessment services? Do I need to meet a deductible before coverage begins? Having these details upfront can help you plan and understand any potential costs.
